About Us

Focus On Food Tourism

In 2015 Viviane Vayssieres launched Experience The Tastes of Bedfordshire at the Woburn Abbey Garden Show.
The Woburn Abbey Garden Show is a “Must See Event” for all garden and plant lovers. In 2015 120 quality gardening and craft businesses exhibit. Thousands of people attended with 27 coach parties from as far afield as Yorkshire, Bristol, Kent and Norfolk making the journey.
With an extensive advertising and PR budget Her Grace the Duchess of Bedford is totally committed to making this weekend a milestone in the horticultural calendar!

In 2015, with the show in its 6th year, the Bedfordshire food elements was launched by Viviane: A Food Zone hosting outdoor caterers and a Food Hall, where Bedfordshire producers and retailers exhibited their products. It was a great success.

For 2016 Viviane decided to push the geographic boundaries and has joined forces with Robert Gunn from Taste of Anglia Ltd.
ToA is a well-established organisation with excellent contacts, a robust membership base and broad expertise in promoting the food producers of the East of England.

A new partnership was formed and Focus of Food Tourism launched.

New Food Show Has Eastern Promise

We all know Britain boasts a world of flavour, but did you know the East of England has one of the most eclectic arrays of delicious produce?

From 25th to 26th June, Woburn Abbey Garden Show will play host to some of the East’s best food and drink producers at Focus on Food Tourism, a brand new event sited within the ever-popular horticultural event.

From cheese to crayfish and chutney to Chinese sauces, Focus on Food Tourism will provide a platform for an array of small producers with amazing back stories and showcase how eclectic the food and drink from the East of England really is.

The food marquee will play host to around 30 small producers including Crayfish Capers, a family-run business based in Milton Keynes. The business specialises in the trapping and supplying of signal Crayfish and came about as a result of the invasion of Signal Crayfish in UK rivers and canals, which are having a devastating effects on our waters. Crayfish Capers will be providing samples of its delicious Crayfish Capers Fishcakes to visitors.

Family-run condiment company, Scarlett & Mustard will also be showcasing its range at Focus on Food Tourism. Using locally sourced ingredients where possible, Scarlett & Mustard produces delicious dressings and marinades, oils, jams, marmalades and curds, including its unusual Pumpkin Oil and Truffle Rapeseed Oil.

Bringing variety to the event is Gambardeli, a producer of meat-free steaks. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, the steaks have a satisfying chewy texture and will provide a talking point for visitors.

The Woburn Abbey Garden Show attracts thousands of visitors from across the country every year and it is hoped that the Focus On Food Tourism hall will entice a new foodie audience to the event and help put the East of England firmly on the map for its fantastic array of delicious local produce. Also new is the Food Art Gallery sponsored by CLIQQ Photography based in north Essex, which is quickly building a loyal and passionate following across the country.

“This is a perfect opportunity for the food and drink industry of the region to promote the East of England as a food tourism destination,” explains Robert Gunn, Executive Officer at Tastes of Anglia which is co-organising the event with Paule Rochelle Sales & Marketing. “The East of England has such a wealth of wonderful produce. Let’s start telling the story nationally and internationally,” he adds.

“Focus On Food Tourism at Woburn Abbey Garden Show offers food artisans and producers excellent marketing opportunities as exhibitors or sponsors and will give consumers a unique chance to taste some of the amazing produce from the region,” adds Viviane Vayssieres from Paule Rochelle.
